Georgia Football: 3 reasons Bulldogs will beat TCU to go back-to-back
Georgia football is one win away from back-to-back college football national titles and here are three reasons why the Bulldogs will beat TCU.
We are less than 48 hours away from the college football national championship game. Georgia football is looking to lock down its place as the new dynasty of the sport, while TCU is looking to complete a cinderella run to a national championship.
I don’t know of anyone predicting that the Horned Frogs, 5-7 a year ago, would be playing for the national title. They were picked to finish near the bottom of the Big 12 but the 51-45 win over Michigan has the Horned Frogs one win from the national title.
However, TCU hasn’t played anyone quite like Georgia. Ohio State is one of the few teams talented enough to deal with Georgia football. Even Michigan wasn’t able to hold up last season and it’s very possible the biggest threat to UGA in the playoff was eliminated by Georgia.
With that in mind, here are three reasons why Georgia football will beat TCU to go back-to-back.
Georgia won’t overlook TCU
Fair or not, Michigan wasn’t ready to play in the Fiesta Bowl and it might have been due to overlooking the Horned Frogs. J.J. McCarthy talked about how Michigan was going to be able to run the ball all over the 3-3-5 defense but it didn’t happen after a 50-yard run on the first play.
Michigan struggled in the red zone because it couldn’t run the ball. Its first three goal-to-go situations resulted in just three points.
Georgia football ranks first in the FBS in red-zone scoring percentage so that shouldn’t be an issue and after watching TCU upset No. 2 Michigan, I don’t see the Bulldogs overlooking TCU.
The Bulldogs had to face their own mortality against Ohio State, which should also mean that TCU has their full attention.
