There are a number of elite quarterbacks in the 2024 college football recruiting class and here’s the latest on Julian Sayin, Jadyn Davis, and Dylan Raiola.

Now that the 2023 college football recruiting class has wrapped up, at least for the most part (there is a late signing period starting in February), the focus is shifting to 2024.

And when it comes to the top-ranked quarterbacks in the 2024 college football recruiting class, things are really starting to heat up.

Julian Sayin has been committed to Alabama, but after Ohio State lost the commitment of Dylan Raiola, the No. 1 overall prospect and quarterback in 2024, the Buckeyes got into the mix with an offer to Sayin on Tuesday.

However, according to what he told Rivals, Sayin is “All Crimson Tide” so I wouldn’t fret at this point as an Alabama football fan. Saying is ranked 15th overall in the 2024 college football recruiting rankings according to the 247 sports composite and No. 2 among QBs.

Ohio State is definitely looking to become more of a player in the 2024 class and Ryan Day is expected to make an in-home visit with Jadyn Davis this week.

However, he’s not alone. According to 247 sports’ Steve Wiltfong, Davis is also expected to talk to Jim Harbaugh tonight, as well as taking a visit to North Carolina this weekend. Clemson’s new OC Garrett Riley is also expected to visit Davis, as well as Kirby Smart.

Clarity should start to come with Jadyn Davis, Dylan Raiola

Michigan has been viewed as the leader for Jadyn Davis. The Wolveirnes have picked up five crystal ball projections including one this week for one of the top 2024 quarterbacks.

Ohio State trying to get into the mix is interesting. That’s something to watch. Davis talked about making a decision before the end of 2022 but delayed his timeline and the longer he waits, the more it looks like the destination will be somewhere else.

North Carolina is pushing hard but just lost its offensive coordinator to Wisconsin. Georgia is also pushing for Dylan Raiola and is viewed as the favorite for the No. 1 QB in the 2024 college football recruiting class.

Raiola talked to Chad Simmons of On3.com and said that the Bulldogs, Nebraska, USC, and Oregon are among the top four teams. I’ve already said I think it’s going to be a tough pull for USC with Malachi Nelson, a five-star in 2023 on the roster.

Oregon is a dark horse but the Ducks always seem to have a shot with big-time kids from the West coast. Visits are going to tell the story. Unlike Davis, Raiola hasn’t talked about making an early decision and I think official visits will determine the winner here.

Georgia feels like the team to beat, but don’t count out Nebraska. Either way, It’d be surprising if the Bulldogs didn’t land Davis or Dylan Raiola in 2024. It just seems like the Bulldogs are due for a five-star QB commitment and with all of their momentum, it feels like a sure bet they’ll get one.
