One player who I believe has the highest ceiling of anyone on the entire team and who I’ve been incredibly high on since he committed is Tobias Merriweather.

Merriweather has great size (6-foot-4 and 185 pounds) and the opportunity is right in front of him to seize that WR1 role on the team next season. Notre Dame hasn’t had a clear No. 1 receiver outside of Michael Mayer for the past couple of seasons and that’s going to need to change, especially with Sam Hartman coming in via the portal.

Lorenzo Styles and Deion Colzie are the projected starters at receiver if the season started today, but honestly Merriweather should be in that group as well. He may be the most talented wideout on the team.

As a freshman in 2022, Merriweather had just one catch for 41 yards and a touchdown. He is going to have a much bigger impact in 2023.

I’m projected a massive breakout season for the second-year receiver from Washington.
