College football has the fastest regular season in all sports. We were talking about Lincoln Riley bolting Norman for SoCal and how Kalen DeBoer might be an underrated hire at Washington. The season is officially over for the Pac-12, and it was a good one. The conference had four teams in the College Football Playoff hunt until mid-November.

Washington, USC, Oregon, Oregon State, and Utah all won 10 games this season. Washington quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. had a revival of a season and should be on everyone’s Heisman watch list in 2023.

Oregon State might have won the Pac-12 if it had consistent quarterback play. In his first season in Los Angeles, Lincoln Riley had the Trojans within one game of the College Football Playoff.

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning unlocked Bo Nix and had the Ducks playing like a top-15 team most of the season. This season was crucial for the Pac-12 with the changing landscape of college football. They finished 3-4 in the bowl season, but 2022 was a positive harbinger of things to come.
