Brian Kelly’s first season with LSU football can be deemed a success. He led the Tigers to playoff contention up until the final couple weeks of the season and back to the SEC title game for the first time since Joe Burrow led the program to a national title.

Although the Tigers came up short against Georgia, they have to feel good about the direction of the program under Kelly.

The future of the program will be built off the 2022 class and these are the three guys who could become second-year stars in 2023.

Quency Wiggins was dealing with an injury last year and didn’t see the field nearly as much as you’d expect a borderline five-star to because of it.

That should change in 2023.

Wiggins played in just five total games and finished with five total tackles, but you can bet Brian Kelly is going to utilize his young star defensive lineman with BJ Ojulari heading to the NFL draft. Those are some massive shoes to fill, but Wiggins could be a breakout star for the Tigers and I’d actually bet on it.

The former top-100 recruit from Baton Rouge is going to become a star for his hometown team and he’ll help lead the defense back to the top of the SEC.

The LSU defensive line will be undergoing a massive overhaul next season and Wiggins will lead the way.
