Arizona State football would be perfect for Jaden Rashada
Arizona State football is one of the top contenders for Jaden Rashada and here’s why the Sun Devils would be a perfect fit.
When Jaden Rashada was released from his national letter of intent by Florida, it added another really interesting piece to National Signing Day next week.
Right after Jaden Rashada became available, Arizona State football and head coach Kenny Dillingham made a quick move to pounce. The Sun Devils hosted him for a visit last weekend and the Sun Devils have talked about getting him on campus multiple times.
Rashada is expected to visit TCU this weekend and the Horned Frogs are viewed as the other serious contender along with Arizona State football.
Why Arizona State football would be a great fit
TCU obviously offers a lot too. The Horned Frogs were just in the national championship game and have an opening at starting quarterback with Max Duggan graduating.
Chandler Morris is the expected starter but Rashada is a five-star according to 247 sports and a top-100 prospect in the 247 sports composite rankings.
However, TCU can’t sell its success on the offensive end of the field quite as much with offensive coordinator Garrett Riley going to Clemson this offseason. Dillingham, on the other hand, has been recruiting Jaden Rashada since last summer when he was the OC at Oregon.
Dillingham is the biggest reason why five-star QB Dante Moore was committed to Oregon and he’s an underrated hire by Arizona State football and recruitments like this are the reason why.
Arizona State probably wouldn’t even be in the mix if it wasn’t for Dillingham. Drew Pyne is on the ASU roster and is assumed to be the starter next season. However, Rashada could push for the job and he would no doubt be the future starter.
Dillingham proved he can do wonders for a quarterback and did a stellar job with Bo Nix last season at Oregon. That’s a selling point right there. Arizona State also doesn’t have the pressure of being the national runner-up and all that goes with that.
Tempe would also keep Rashada closer to home. That might not be a factor but sometimes, that sort of familiarity can matter and Arizona is certainly closer than Texas.
Admittedly, nobody knows what Rashada is going to do when he decides or how big a factor NIL will be in that decision. It’s not even known if he will sign next week, but what I do believe is that if he winds up with Arizona State football, it’s going to be a perfect fit for him and the Sun Devils.
