Some of the latest news going around about college football recruiting in the 2023 and 2024 classes with updates on Nyckoles Harbor, Dylan Raiola, and more.

When it comes to college football recruiting, it’s an important time. National Signing Day (the traditional one) isn’t as important as it used to be.

However, it’s still a key date on the college football recruiting calendar and even in the 2023 class, there are a number of top prospects left on the board.

One of those is five-star Nyckoles Harbor, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound athlete who runs the 100-meter dash in under 10.3. Harbor is targeting a 10-flat in the 100-meter dash and is also hoping to run in the Olympics.

So track is playing a key role in this recruitment and that’s why Oregon seems like a good fit. Nyckoles Harbor is visiting Oregon this weekend and if I had to make a prediction, I’d lean toward the Ducks as I said earlier this week.

One thing is clear though in reading the latest report from Chad Simmons of On3.com — nobody knows what to expect from Harbor, except that he’s supposed to decide on Tuesday. My guess is that we’ll have a better idea of where Oregon stands after this weekend.

If he doesn’t start trending with projections to Oregon, I’d feel good if I was a Michigan football fan as the Wolverines have been around from start to finish.

College football recruiting is wild and this is going to be one of the things to watch closely as National Signing Day approaches.

The defending national champions don’t have any shot of catching Alabama for the No. 1 college football recruiting class in 2023, but there is still the chance to add a five-star tight end, which would be a great get for tight end U.

Duce Robinson, the five-star prospect out of Phoenix, Arizona is one of the top prizes left on the board. USC did have some momentum but Georgia has received a number of expert projections in recent weeks and is the favorite according to the On3 prediction machine (64.5 percent chance).

Walker Lyons is a four-star tight end out of Folsom, California but the Bulldogs are trending as the favorite there too and it shouldn’t shock anyone that the talented tight end wants to play for UGA. Plus Lyons is going on a mission and is probably more of a 2024 recruit.

More College football recruiting news: Nebraska full-court press on Dylan Raiola

We talked about Dylan Raiola’s upcoming visit to USC and what it means, but Nebraska football isn’t going away.

Matt Rhule has done a stellar job on the recruiting trail and has Nebraska ranked inside the top 25 in the 2023 college football recruiting class according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

Yet, the Huskers are aiming higher in 2024 and Dylan Raiola, the No. 1 QB and recruit, as well as a Nebraska football legacy is their top target. His dad was a Nebraska hall-of-famer and he recently told Husker Online that Nebraska “isn’t just another school.”

And on Friday, a bunch of Nebraska football assistant coaches made the trip to see Raiola. It doesn’t mean the Huskers are going to get him but the effort is impressive.
