Mike Norvell was having a tough time earning the good graces of Florida State football fans through his first couple of seasons and after losing Travis Hunter to Jackson State, but an awe-inspiring 2022 campaign got him out of the fanbase’s doghouse.

The Seminoles finished the season 10-3 and already look like a favorite to win the ACC next season, contending with Clemson atop the league.

It feels like Florida State may be on its way to being “back” and we’ll see if that’s the case in 2023.

If these three second-year players become stars, the Seminoles will be back sooner than later.

Entering his second year, Julian Armella figures to have a bigger role on the offensive line. The redshirt freshman projects in the early two-deep depth charts and I honestly wouldn’t be shocked to see him overtake someone for a starting spot at tackle this season.

Armella was the third-highest-ranked recruit in Florida State’s 2022 class at No. 152 overall and he was the eighth-best offensive tackle in the nation, per the 247Sports composite. He was also the state of Florida’s 18th-best recruit.

At 6-foot-6 and 285 pounds, he’s perfect for a right tackle spot in his second season and he could mold into a left tackle by the end of his career.

I’m buying Armella stock now before he blows up.
