In our college football news roundup, we cover Jim Harbaugh’s meeting with the Broncos last week, the latest on Jaden Rashada, and more.

Two things that never seem to leave the college football news cycle are topics of conversation this Sunday morning as Jim Harbaugh to the NFL and Jaden Rashada are back on the menu.

Don’t worry Michigan football fans, Harbaugh isn’t going anywhere. However, that didn’t stop ESPN’s Adam Schefter from putting out a really interesting report about Denver’s owner going to Ann Arbor to meet with Harbaugh last week.

Whether it was a meeting or a full-on interview, we don’t really know. What we do know is that Harbaugh isn’t going to be the Broncos’ head coach, so the meeting didn’t result in any type of offer or Harbaugh indicated he wasn’t interested.

It’s intriguing. It’s Jim Harbaugh after all. However, if I was a Michigan fan, I would take this as a positive. Denver’s interest wasn’t lukewarm. The Broncos seemed to be genuinely interested in hiring Harbaugh and this proves it. So the fact that Jim still stayed should be reassuring.

Jaden Rashada visits TCU

The Jaden Rashada recruitment continues to be fascinating and on the final weekend before the dead period, the top-100 QB and five-star (via 247 sports rankings) took a visit to TCU.

Rashada visited Arizona State the weekend before and I broke down why I think the Sun Devils woud be a great fit for the 6-foot-4, 175-pound QB from California.

Yet, TCU has a lot to offer too. There is a shot at early playing time if Rashada could beat out Chandler Morris and the Horned Frogs just went to the College Football Playoff, not to mention QB Max Duggan was a Heisman finalist.

It will be interesting to see if Rashada signs this week as the late signing period for college football opens on Wednesday. I’ll also be watching to see if another team enters the mix. Arizona State and TCU are the favorites now but with Rashada, expect the unexpected.

More college football news: Saturday’s 4-star commitments

The 2023 college football recruiting class is winding down. There were a couple of three-star pledges on Saturday but the fireworks were in the 2024 class as Georgia, Clemson, and Florida all landed commitments from four-star recruits.

Adarius Hayes committed to Florida and the EDGE rusher is ranked No. 61 overall via the 247 sports composite rankings. He’s out of Largo, Florida, and is 6-foot-4, 210 pounds.

Georgia also landed a top-100 commitment in 2024 and it was from speedy running back Dwight Phillps Jr. out of Mableton, Georgia. He’s 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, and ranked as the No. 4 running back in the 2024 class. He’s electrifying too and another solid in-state pickup for UGA.

The other four-star pledge on Saturday was defensive lineman Caleb Thompson out of Norcross, Georgia committing to Clemson. He’s 6-foot-3, 275 pounds, and is ranked No. 241 in the 2024 class via the 247 sports composite rankings.
