Oklahoma State football: 3 second-year players who’ll become stars in 2023
It’s been a couple of years since Oklahoma State really had a dominant run game and you know fans are hoping and praying for a return of those days. Chuba Hubbard feels like he was on the team a decade ago, but Ollie Gordon could become that next workhorse back.
Some early depth chart projections have redshirt sophomore Jaden Nixon as the starting running back next season, but Gordon just brings more to the table.
Oh, and Gordon was better as a true freshman than Nixon was last year. He finished with 308 yards and two touchdowns on 5.0 yards per carry to Nixon’s 181 yards and no scores on just 3.6 yards per carry.
Gordon was the second-best recruit in Oklahoma State’s 2022 class and lived up to the hype early on and I think he could be the next Hubbard-type of star running back. He just needs more opportunities and those are coming in 2023.
