After a disappointing 2021 season, Penn State football bounced back in 2022 and finished near the top of the Big Ten East.

But just being near the top isn’t good enough for this program.

Penn State has lofty expectations heading into each season and with a new quarterback in 2023 and coming off a relatively successful campaign, fans are hoping for a conference title.

If that’s going to happen, these second-year players need to step up.

Penn State is losing some key players on the defensive line heading into the 2023 season and that’s where a defensive end like Dani Dennis-Sutton comes into play.

The former five-star defensive lineman had a big first year and showed flashes of what he could bring to the table for the next couple of seasons in Happy Valley. The No. 29 overall recruit from the 2022 class finished his first season with 17 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, an interception, and a pass breakup.

We saw Dennis-Sutton have a mini breakout season in 2022 but I think he’s barely scratched the surface. He’s going to be the next great defensive lineman at Penn State and that’ll start this coming season.

Year two is about to be a big one for Dennis-Sutton.
