Mater Dei cornerback Domani Jackson (3) /

Like Zion Branch, Domani Jackson came in as a highly-touted freshman at USC and didn’t see the field as much as he probably would have liked.

The former five-star cornerback did, however, actually record some stats as he finished the season with two tackles and a pass breakup and now he’ll be heading into his second season with the program as a potential starting candidate, but at the very least he’ll be in the two-deep.

Jackson was one of the best recruits in the entire 2022 class, ranking No. 5 overall and he was the nation’s No. 2 cornerback prospect and top prospect from the talent-rich state of California. Basically, he was the recruit that USC had to land in the 2022 class and the Trojans did just that.

Now Alex Grinch is going to have to make sure he plays the talented cornerback enough to improve that horrid pass defense in 2023.

Jackson will be a star next season and a potential All-Pac-12 defensive back. I’m buying all the stock right now.
