Colorado football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2023
Deion Sanders is going to save Colorado football. Or at least that’s what fans and the rest of the athletic department are hoping for after he was poached from Jackson State.
The Buffaloes went a forgettable 1-11 last season in Karl Dorrell’s last ride and a major change was needed so the hire of Sanders just makes sense. He’s already brought a ton of talent in with him and Colorado should be much closer to a bowl team this year.
How will Colorado fare in Sanders’ first season?
Colorado gets to try and prove right away that its a program on the rise by taking on the reigning national runner-up in TCU down in Fort Worth.
Unfortunately, Colorado just has too much rebuilding to do and while the roster is much better this year compared to the final year of Karl Dorrell, I just think TCU has the talent and experience to take care of an up-and-comer like the Buffaloes.
This game is going to be closer than people think, but Deion Sanders won’t take any moral victories.
Prediction: Loss (0-1)
Colorado and Nebraska. Two historical powers who have fallen on hard times. It’s been a while since both of these programs were relevant and I think that may be changing with the coaching staffs of each improving.
That makes this game intriguing. Who’s going to be “back” first?
I’m going to give the nod to Colorado since they’ll be playing at home as Sanders will get a heck of a welcome in Boulder with his first career win with the Buffaloes.
This win could propel the Buffaloes to a successful season.
Prediction: Win (1-1)
