Looking back at the 2023 Michigan football recruiting class, here are three incoming recruits that should make an instant impact for the Wolverines.

Michigan football’s 2023 recruiting class didn’t really meet expectations. The Wolverines are fresh off back-to-back Big Ten championships and College Football Playoff appearances.

Yet, instead of signing an elite recruiting class, Michigan football’s 2023 class finished 18th in the 247 sports composite rankings. There were 24 players total signed by Michigan football and 10 of them are considered blue-chips (4-stars or higher) and none are ranked in the top 100.

Development has always been a big key for Michigan football under Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines have done really well in that area. Going forward, it will be even more important, especially if the recruiting efforts don’t improve.

That being said, there are some really talented players in this class. There are also guys with legit upside that can be turned into NFL prospects down the road. As far as next season though, here are three Michigan football signees in 2023 that can make immediate impacts.

3. Kicker Adam Samaha

Kickers are people too and Adam Samaha is one of the top placekickers in the entire class, ranking seventh overall. He’s a three-star recruit and with Jake Moody leaving for the NFL, Michigan football has a pretty important opening.

A kicker doesn’t seem that important until he’s lining up for a kick to send you to the national championship game. Then, you want to make sure you have the right guy and the Wolverines believe they do in Samaha, who was committed for over a year before actually signing.

Samaha is an athlete too and I would give him a good chance to be the kicker next season for the two-time defending Big Ten champs.
