Bowling Green had one of the worst defenses in the country last season, allowing nearly 420 total yards per game and really struggling against the pass. That’s music to JJ McCarthy’s ears as he might throw for 300 here and I wouldn’t be shocked if Michigan approached 600 total yards as a team.

Michigan could put up close to 60 in this win as Jim Harbaugh shows no mercy for the MAC program that went 6-7 a year ago.

Prediction: Win (3-0)

With non-conference play in the rearview mirror, Michigan gets a matchup with a team that might as well be a non-conference opponent and Group of Five team, although it has been better under Greg Schiano in the past few years.

Rutgers comes to town and Michigan actually nearly had a slip-up against the Scarlet Knights the last time they came to Ann Arbor in 2021, but I don’t expect a seven-point game this time around. Michigan should win this one by a few touchdowns and head into its first road game with some momentum and a 4-0 overall record.

Prediction: Win (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten)
