TCU football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2023
Houston may have been one of the better teams in the Group of Five last season but that doesn’t mean the Cougars are going to take care of one of the best teams in the country in Week 3 as new members of the Big 12
The Cougars lose Clayton Tune and Dana Holgorsen’s offense may take a step back with a new quarterback in place which means TCU will pick up a big in-state road win against the in-state foe.
A 3-0 record looks nice for Chandler Morris as QB1.
Prediction: Win (3-0, 1-0 Big 12)
Sonny Dykes gets a chance to face his old program here in Week 4 as the Horned Frogs host SMU. He went 30-18 in four full seasons with the Mustangs and led the program to three bowl appearances and a 10-win season in 2019.
Now, he’ll get a chance to beat his former program which is coming off a 5-7 season under Rhett Lashlee.
This shouldn’t be much of a problem. TCU exits non-conference play unscathed.
Prediction: Win (4-0)
