I thought that BYU was going to be a force to be reckoned with in 2022 with Jaren Hall at quarterback but that never happened and the Cougars finished 8-5 despite the talented gunslinger passing for 3,171 yards and 31 touchdowns.

Now they have to replace him and it’s not going to be easy.

Kedon Slovis comes in and he should have plenty of success, but BYU’s first season in the Big 12 is not going to be one to remember. I expect a poor season for the Cougars and Kalani Sitake.

Prediction: Win (7-0, 4-0)

The last time these two teams met, Max Duggan was trying to put the Horned Frogs on his back en route to a Big 12 title. But he came just short.

Well, Duggan is gone and Kansas State is going to be just as good as it was in 2022, if not better.

This is a tough spot for the first loss of the season, but winning in Manhattan against even an average Kansas State team isn’t easy, and this team is far from average. The Wildcats are on a Big 12 title repeat quest.

Prediction: Loss (7-1, 4-1)
