Year two under Dave Aranda didn’t go quite as planned as Baylor went from Big 12 champion in 2021 to 6-7 in 2022. The defense took a major step back and post-Gerry Bohanon offense was just inconsistent.

The Bears should be better in 2023 with the offense and defense getting another year to gel after a disappointing 2022 season and I think we’ll see them contending for the conference crown again.

However, I think Baylor will be out of the race at this point in the year, but it’ll be alive until the start of November.

TCU takes care of Baylor to move one step closer to the Big 12 title game.

Prediction: Win (9-2, 6-2)

The last game on the schedule presents arguably the toughest matchup of all: Oklahoma.

A road game in Norman will stand between TCU and a return trip to the Big 12 title game. Tough.

However, this isn’t Lincoln Riley’s Oklahoma Sooners as Brent Venables is still trying to figure something out in order to get them back to the top of the conference right before leaving for the SEC next year with Texas.

Getting Dillon Gabriel back is a good start and bringing in some quality transfers and a really good recruiting class will aid both sides of the ball as I see Oklahoma having a big bounce-back year and securing a Big 12 title game berth with this thrilling win over TCU.

Prediction: Loss (9-3, 6-3)
