2. LSU

The Tigers are another team that burst onto the scene in 2022 in the first year under head coach Brian Kelly. LSU made the SEC title game and beat Alabama.

There are bigger goals in 2023 for LSU football and with quarterback Jayden Daniels returning, the Tigers are expected to be a playoff contender once again.

LSU signed a top-10 recruiting class but added to it with the No. 2 class in the transfer portal rankings by 247 sports. LSU football added 11 players total in the portal and eight of them are ranked as four-star prospects led by star linebacker Omar Speights who transferred from Oregon State. The idea of Speights and Harold Perkins has to be worrisome for opposing offenses.

Denver Harris, the former five-star cornerback coming from Texas A&M, was another good move for the Tigers, who also signed JK Johnson from Ohio State, not to mention Duce Chestnut from Syracuse and Zy Alexander as the Tigers totally revamped their secondary.

LSU also picked up four-star wideout Aaron Anderson from Alabama and added some four-star talent on the defensive line and at EDGE. The offense became dynamic in 2022 for the Tigers and LSU is determined to make sure the defense is too.
