1. Green Bay Packers (No. 15)

This is my most likely draft scenario for Michael Mayer.

The Packers desperately need some help on offense and the tight end position has been a rather non-existent threat for years in Green Bay and Mayer could help big-time.

The Aaron Rodgers era may have come to an end after last season which could open the door for a major rebuild and the Packers could build around Mayer. Even if Rodgers does come back to Green Bay, he’ll need some help in the passing game and an elite tight end would do just the trick. Mayer is a big body with soft hands and Rodgers would love for this kind of target.

Allen Lazard, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs showed flashes in 2022 but the offense just needs a little extra something and Mayer would be just that.

Sure, Robert Tonyan was a reliable target, but he’s just not going to be a go-to target at tight end. Mayer will be.

Plus, grabbing Mayer at No. 15 overall just makes sense. It’s not a reach and it’s a great value pick.
