Dylan Raiola visited Nebraska football this weekend thanks to his family ties and Husker fans did their best to show him the love.

There are few fanbases in college football as passionate as Nebraska football fans are and Husker nation gave five-star QB Dylan Raiola a glimpse of what it would be like to play in Lincoln on Saturday during a basketball game.

Raiola, who is visiting Nebraska despite it being a recruiting dead period, because he’s got an uncle on the coaching staff, Donovan Raiola, was spotted at the basketball game between Nebraska and Minnesota and the fanbase welcomed him with a standing ovation.

Raiola responded to the crowd by throwing the bones, which is going to excite Nebraska football fans — it’s what the blackshirts do on defense when they make a play and has long been synonymous with the Huskers.

That’s something Raiola would know from his time growing up and watching Nebraska. As far as the five-star quarterback, here’s what he said about the experience to Steve Wiltfong of 247 sports:

"“I’ve never experienced anything close to that!” Raiola told 247Sports. “Those fans are the best and they have always showed my family love! It means a lot. It’s a blessing to be able to experience these fans at these games! They always show out for their Husker sports! It’s a great site to see!”"

Nebraska football has clear momentum with Dylan Raiola

The dead period visit looks like a promising sign for Nebraska football and on that note, the Huskers picked up another crystal ball projection from Spencer Ryland, who covers high school sports and recruiting on the West coast for 247 sports.

This new crystal ball projection has a confidence level of eight. Nebraska football has received three crystal balls total for Raiola, but Wiltfong, the lead expert for 247 sports, still has his crystal ball on Georgia.

We’ll see if that changes. After Matt Rhule and then his entire coaching staff visited Raiola, it was clear Nebraska was trending up. The Huskers are expected to get a spring visit in March, along with Georgia and USC, but the Big Red are trending in the right direction.

Now, it’s up to Rhule and the Huskers to close it out, which will be easier said than done with the top-ranked overall recruit in the 2024 college football recruiting class.
