As spring ball is about to start for college football teams everywhere, we offer up our predictions for each Power-5 conference champion.

We are still months away from the 2023 college football season. But things are getting closer and spring football is fast approaching.

A number of college football teams have already started spring practices such as the Michigan Wolverines, one of the returning playoff teams and defending Big Ten champion.

Michigan enters the 2023 college football season as the two-time defending Big Ten champs. Will the Wolverines win a third? What about Georgia in the SEC or the Big 12? Can Utah make it three in a row in the Pac-12? What about Clemson?

It might be way too early for college football predictions, but before the rest of the country hits the field for spring ball, here are our early predictions for Power-5 conference champions in 2023.

Big Ten: Michigan Wolverines

Ohio State and Penn State are going to have something to say about this, but Michigan is loaded. The Wolverines are the only one of the three teams to return their starting quarterback. They also have the best running-back duo in the country.

Michigan lost two starters on the offensive line but returned elite players in Trevor Keegan and Zak Zinter, plus they added some starting-caliber talent from the Pac-12 in the transfer portal and plucked one of the top transfers overall in Ernest Hausmann.

With Jim Harbaugh back and the Ohio State game at home again, the Wolverines have to be the favorite to win the Big Ten. Penn State hosts Michigan but has to travel to the Shoe and a three-way tie is very possible.

Still, by season’s end, I for one, believe the Wolverines will make it a 3-peat.
