Big 12: Texas

The Big 12 is probably the most wide-open Power-5 college football conference going into the 2023 season and while Texas might not seem like a wise pick, there are plenty of reasons to believe the Horns can finally get over the hump in 2023.

Steve Sarkisian and company were just one win away from reaching the Big 12 title game in 2022. Kansas State isn’t going to be easy to knock off.

Yet, Texas is ranked second in the Big 12 in returning production and according to 247 sports, they have the third-most offensive production coming back in college football

Arch Manning is set to be the backup quarterback but only if Quinn Ewers can finally live up to his own potential. Xavier Worthy is dynamic and Cedric Baxter is the No. 1 overall running back in 2023, which can help replace Bijan Robinson.

Oklahoma, Kansas State, and TCU should all be in contention. Plus BYU, Cincinnati, UCF, and Houston join the mix, but at the end of the day, I’ll take Texas.
