5 biggest winners from college football recruiting in February

2. Auburn football

Auburn actually has a pretty solid case for the No. 1 overall ranking in terms of the biggest winners from college football recruiting in February.

Auburn is actually the only college football team to land multiple commitments ranked inside the top 300 of the 247 sports composite rankings and what makes the haul even more impressive is that one of those was four-star QB Walker White.

White was trending to Clemson right before his commitment, but Auburn football, needing a big-time QB for the future, was able to come in late and win his pledge. White is ranked 115th overall in the 2024 class and ninth among QBs, as well as first in the state of Arkansas.

Quarterback commitments always carry extra weight. Freeze also landed 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back Jayden Lewis. He’s ranked 297th in 2024 and actually committed back on signing day for the 2023 class. Auburn is 20th in the team rankings currently.
