A slew of quarterback commitments lead the way in terms of the most important college football commitments over the past week.

The action has started to pick up in the month of March on the college football recruiting trail. The dead period ended at the beginning of the month and with recruits getting back on campus, it has led to a number of commitments.

Purdue was a big winner last week in college football recruiting and it’s because the Boilermakers landed four-star quarterback Marcus Davila, who is ranked 316th overall in the 2024 class according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

Davila is the 20th-ranked quarterback in the 2024 college football recruiting class. He’s out of Texas and is a really nice piece for the Boilermakers and gives them a potential QB1 for the future.

There were a couple of other quarterback commitments this past week and one of them went to Mississippi State as the No. 21 QB in the 2024 class, Josh Flowers pledged to the Bulldogs. He’s ranked 323rd overall and is the first ranked commitment in the class for Mississippi State.

QB Whit Muschamp is ranked 756th overall in the 2024 college football recruiting class and committed to Virginia. His ranking is lower (52nd among QBs) but he’s still ranked as a solid three-star and offers some developmental potential. He threw for over 3,000 yards and had 29 touchdown passes. His dad is also Will Muschamp.

The other blue-chip commitment of the week belonged to North Carolina. The Tar Heels landed the No. 20 running back in the 2024 college football recruiting class in Davion Gouse. He’s out of Florida and is the top-ranked pledge in the class for the Tar Heels, plus anytime you land a guy who has the potential to be your starting running back, that’s a big deal.
