Missouri football is coming off a second straight six-win season under Eli Drinkwitz as the third-year head coach is now 17-19 in three years with the Tigers.

There are some doubts about whether he is the right coach for the future of the program because the expectations should be more than going .500 every year. They’ve been about as average as any program in college football over the past three seasons. Something needs to change.

The Tigers are heading into spring ball with a returning starting quarterback in Brady Cook who passed for 2,734 yards and 14 touchdowns with seven picks in 2022.

Missouri does return some key players, including its top rusher and top four tacklers from last year. It also brings in Oklahoma receiver transfer Theo Wease.

Spring will be a great opportunity for fans to see what Missouri is all about.

When is Missouri football’s spring game?

While every Missouri fan is currently focused on the NCAA Tournament with the Tigers facing Utah State in the first round this weekend, there’s also football being played in Columbia, Mo.

Missouri is one of the first Power Five spring games being played on Saturday, March 18, and it’ll feature a potentially-solid offense and a defense with plenty of experience. I’ll be interested in seeing how Cook looks and how he connects with Wease at receiver. That could be a heck of a duo in the SEC next season.

If you’re looking to watch the spring game, it’ll be on ESPN+ or WashESPN.

Will this be the year Drinkwitz and the Tigers break through?
