Lane Kiffin has Ole Miss football fans believing again. Two years after a New Year’s Six bowl appearance (and loss thanks to a Matt Corral injury), the Rebels are looking like serious contenders in the SEC again.
Heading into the 2023 season, there’s a chance this team could be ranked with a loaded quarterback room, elite running back, and improving defense.
How will Ole Miss fare in 2023?
This one should be a cakewalk for the Rebels. Mercer is an FCS squad that finished 7-4 a year ago and fourth in the Southern Conference. Ole Miss is bringing back Jaxson Dart and a couple of other talented quarterbacks to push him.
This one will get ugly early on.
Prediction: Win (1-0)
Tulane was one of the best Group of Five teams in the country last year under head coach Willie Fritz, finishing 12-2 with a win over Dart’s former team (USC) in the Cotton Bowl. This isn’t going to be an easy win, by any means, but I think the Rebels are going to pull out a gutsy victory.
Ole Miss will go into New Orleans and make a statement early in the season with a win over a real threat to secure a New Year’s Six bowl again.
Prediction: Win (2-0)
