LB Nick Jackson

Iowa football was stellar on the defensive side of the ball last season. Not only did they limit opponents but they found ways to score points and make impact plays, forcing 1.8 turnovers per game.

Jack Campbell was a big part of that and he’s headed to the NFL draft. That’s one playmaking linebacker out of the door, but the good news for Iowa football fans is that the Hawkeyes were able to land Nick Jackson, a four-star transfer linebacker from Virginia.

Jackson is an experienced player and he’s had over 100 tackles in each of the past three seasons. He’s also had 20 tackles for loss and a total of 10 sacks since 2020.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound linebacker also has eight career pass breakups with four coming last season. He hasn’t forced a bunch of turnovers in his career, however, he’ll be an impact player for the Iowa football defense right away in 2023.

It wouldn’t be shocking at all to see him register 100 tackles or more for the fourth straight season.
