WR Malachi Coleman (recruit)

Keeping the 6-foot-4, 185-pound Coleman in the state of Nebraska was a huge win for the Huskers and Rhule in the 2023 recruiting class.

Coleman was ranked 67th overall in the final 247 sports composite rankings in 2023 for a reason. He was the No. 1 player in the state of Nebraska and his potential is through the roof.

After Trey Palmer left for the NFL draft, Nebraska football has a clear need for a game-breaking wide receiver. Marcus Washington, a holdover from last season, should see an increased role this season and he’s a solid deep threat.

But he’s not Trey Palmer. Coleman might not be either. At least not right away, but he has all the tools needed to be a first-round pick and I think he’ll play his way into a key role next season for the Huskers.

Bottom line: Coleman is too talented to sit on the sidelines and I don’t think he will.
