Wake Forest football is off to a really strong start on the recruiting trail in the 2024 class and after two commitments this week, it’s a top-10 class.

It’s still very early when it comes to the 2024 college football recruiting class, but there’s no doubt that the Wake Forest football program is making some waves on the recruiting trail.

If you were to look at the rankings for the 2024 class, you would find many of the usual suspects in the top 10 such as Georgia, LSU, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and other names that are pretty familiar when it comes to recruiting success.

Not one that you may have to look at twice is that of Wake Forest football and right now, the Demon Deacons have the No. 7 overall class according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

Breaking down Wake Forest football recruiting class so far

Thus far, Wake Forest football has eight total commitments in the 2024 class. Seven of those players are ranked inside the top 1,000 overall.

There aren’t any players that would be considered “blue chips” which are four-star rated recruits or higher.

However, the Demon Deacons are still getting a solid class and have already landed a potential future starter at quarterback in Jeremy Hecklinski who is ranked 40th overall at his position and 672nd overall according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

Wake Forest has landed two players this past week and that’s on the heels of a really good month in February with four total commitments to get things off to a positive start.

Tight end Luca Puccinelli pledged to Wake Forest earlier this week. He’s a three-star ranked No. 912 overall. Josh Harrison is also ranked as a three-star EDGE and just committed to Wake Forest football on Saturday.

Wake Forest has got commitments from players in six different states including two in Florida and two in Georgia. It’s been a solid run of winning for the Demon Deacons on the field and Jim Grobe has done an effective job of turning that into a solid recruiting effort in the 2024 class.

The Demon Deacons have ranked 63rd and 80th in the previous two recruiting classes, but it looks like they could have a better ranking in 2024.
