Mike Matthews

Georgia football has been spectacular on the recruiting trail over the past few years, but one position where they could improve is wide receiver.

The Bulldogs have only landed one top-100 receiver in the last few cycles and upgrading their talent at that position should be a top priority in 2024.

5-star Mike Matthews is one of those priorities. He’s 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, and ranked 10th overall in the 2024 class according to the 247 sports composite rankings and is out of Lilburn, Georgia.

USC is also heavily in the mix along with Alabama, Clemson, and Tennessee. It’s always important to beat out Tennessee for recruits and since Matthews is from Georgia, it’s a great chance to land a five-star wideout.

Ryan Wingo

Another wide receiver Georgia football is pushing for is Wingo. He’s out of St. Louis and is ranked 17th overall in the 2024 class.

Wingo is visiting Nebraska this weekend — the same as Dylan Raiola and it feels like there is a decent chance that the two wind up at the same school.

As we said, Georgia could also upgrade its receiving talent and they appear close to the lead with Wingo, as well as Matthews.
