Arkansas football: 3 way-too-early breakout candidates for 2023
Former four-star athlete Rashod Dubinion may not get a chance to start this season, sitting behind returning 1,000-yard rusher Rocket Sanders, but he should be in for an increased role.
As a freshman, Dubinion was fourth on the team in rushing with 293 yards and five touchdowns and while he only averaged 4.1 yards per carry, he showed flashes of being that next star in the backfield and he provided a dynamic ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He finished the season with 12 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown.
While I don’t see him “splitting” carries with Sanders this season, he should undoubtedly finish with more than the 71 he had in 2022, barring injury. I could see him increasing those carries but he’s also too talented to keep off the field, so he could be out there in a receiving capacity as well.
I love what Dubinion brings to the table and the 2022 season was just a small taste. I can see him becoming a huge part of the offense in 2023.
