Auburn lands top-10 RB in 2024 College Football Recruiting class; Analyzing Jadyn Davis top five
In some key college football recruiting news, Auburn football lands a top-10 running back in 2024, plus five-star QB Jadyn Davis releases his top five.
The Auburn football program is one that seems to be on the rise under new head coach Hugh Freeze and while the Tigers haven’t played any games, they are winning recruiting battles.
Freeze probably strikes some fear into the hearts of Alabama fans due to his record against Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide during his tenure at Ole Miss.
So far, Auburn football is starting to rebuild its talent base. The 2023 class finished strong thanks to Freeze as the Tigers landed 10 blue-chip commitments (4 or 5-star recruits) which put their blue-chip ratio at just under 50 percent.
So far in the 2024 college football recruiting class, that blue-chip ratio is 100 percent. Auburn football is ranked 18th in 2024, which is where it finished in 2023.
However, after the commitment of J’Marion Burnette on Friday, one of the best running backs in the 2024 class, Auburn football has now landed a top-10 QB in 2024 (Walker White) and now a top-10 RB. Burnette is also ranked eighth in the state of Alabama and 158th overall according to the 247 sports composite rankings.
It will be interesting to see what Auburn football looks like this fall, but if it’s anything like the recruiting trail, the Tigers are going to be back to their old ways of being relevant in the SEC West.
Breaking down the top five of 5-star QB Jadyn Davis
In other key college football recruiting news from Friday, five-star QB Jadyn Davis, who is ranked 28th overall and as the No. 4 QB in the 2024 class, has released a top five that included Michigan, Ohio State, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Clemson.
The Wolverines and Jim Harbaugh are the obvious favorites. Michigan has all of the crystal ball projections and just hosted Davis for another visit last week.
Clemson has hosted Davis a few times too and North Carolina is the in-state team. Ohio State has gotten in the mix recently, but the Buckeyes have hosted him for one visit, compared to the five visits for Michigan dating back to last June.
