Colorado football: 3 newcomers who’ll have biggest impacts in 2023
This was the easiest pick for me because the most important position on the team is going to be filled with a high-quality newcomer. Shedeur Sanders is a special talent.
Sanders is following his dad to Boulder from Jackson State where he put up some big numbers as a true freshman. While it’s a tough task playing quarterback as a true freshman, he was one of the best the FCS had to offer, throwing for 3,732 yards and 40 touchdowns with only six interceptions as the Tigers had a really good season.
Colorado needs a vastly improved offense from that group that went just 1-11 last season and could barely muster any points. Sanders will need to adjust quickly to the FBS level.
I think he’ll do that.
There’s a reason he was a four-star quarterback recruit out of high school. He has the talent to play at this level and he’ll show that right away.
Heck, we’ve seen other FCS quarterbacks have immediate success at the FBS level — most recently, Washington State’s Cameron Ward.
