USC football poised to land elite TE, Ohio State gets huge projection
USC football fans have a reason to be excited about the commitment announcement of No. 1 tight end Duce Robinson, plus a huge projection for Ohio State.
As far as the 2023 college football recruiting class is concerned, there is one really big fish still available, at least until Thursday.
That’s because that’s when the top-ranked tight end in the 2023 class and the last uncommitted five-star recruit, Duce Robinson, will announce his decision. That’s really good news for USC football as the Trojans have been trending toward a commitment.
Robinson has talked about how exciting it would be to play with USC football quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams. Georgia was long viewed as the favorite but the crystal balls and expert projections started to flip earlier this month.
The Bulldogs will surely try their best to convince Robinson to join the two-time national champions, but right now, all the buzz is for USC football when it comes to Duce Robinson.
Ohio State football with a huge expert projection
The perception that Ohio State recruiting is down is out there, but it’s not really that accurate. It’s true that the Buckeyes missed on Jordan Marshall the No. 3 player in the state of Ohio and that he went to rival Michigan.
That hurt. But Ohio State football is doing just fine. The Buckeyes are trending with another top-10 running back in the 2024 class after missing on Marshall, they also landed a pair of four-star offensive line commitments this week.
However, the best news for Ohio State football fans, or at least the most encouraging is the new expert projection by Chad Simmons of On3.com for the Buckeyes to land Dylan Stewart.
Stewart is the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2024 class according to the On3 rankings and he’s seventh in the On3 industry rankings. The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder is out of Washington, D.C, and just took a visit to the Ohio State football program.
Alabama was viewed as the leader recently and every big-time program is in the mix but for now, Ryan Day and the Buckeyes are trending to add yet another elite pass rusher.
