Spring ball is in the books for Arkansas football with the annual public scrimmage taking place on April 15. We saw some decent quarterback play, a breakout receiver, and a sack party on defense.

That means we’re heading into the 2023 season with Arkansas looking like a legit SEC contender.

The 2022 season was disappointing, but I think this year’s Razorbacks have what it takes to turn things around and Sam Pittman isn’t going to let two straight ho-hum years happen.

Which players saw their stock rise this spring and should help turn the Razorbacks around in 2023?

Sam Pittman raved about his defensive line’s play following the spring game on Saturday and one guy seemed to stand out above the rest: junior defensive end Landon Jackson.

Jackson finished the scrimmage with two sacks to lead everyone. Well, he tied Nico Davillier, but I’m buying all the stock in the former top-150 recruit from the 2021 recruiting class.

The Texas native was originally committed to LSU and didn’t record any stats with the Tigers before hitting the transfer portal and choosing Arkansas ahead of the 2022 season. He played a solid role with the Razorbacks, recording 23 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks in his first full season, and now heads into 2023 with serious momentum.

Jackson had a huge spring and projects as a starter this season. He’s a monster of a defensive lineman at 6-foot-7 and 260 pounds and he’s also loaded with talent.
