Arkansas football: 4-star Charleston Collins bolsters strong 2024 DL class
Sam Pittman has added to his 2024 recruiting class with yet another elite defensive lineman. Arkansas football picked up a commitment from four-star Little Rock, Ark., defensive line prospect Charleston Collins who drew plenty of interest from top programs.
The class now has two four-star defensive linemen committed and both happen to be the top-rated pledges in the Razorbacks’ class.
Along with Collins, who is the No. 221 overall recruit and 26th-best defensive lineman, Kavion Henderson figures to help lead a strong class in the trenches. Henderson is ranked the No. 184 prospect in 2024 and he’s the No. 22 defensive lineman, per the 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 1 recruit currently committed to Arkansas in 2024.
With these two guys leading the way, Arkansas is building a strong defensive front for the future and seeing how the defensive line played during the spring game, that might be the strength of this team for a long time.
Dion Sutts, a three-star from Memphis, is the other defensive lineman committed and he should have a positive impact on the program as well.
Arkansas football building those trenches
Pittman is an offensive line guy and he knows the importance of dominating the trenches. He’s seen teams like Alabama and Georgia dominate up front for years and that’s gotten them to the promised land. He’s following that same blueprint.
With two elite defensive linemen committed for 2024, a decent class in 2023, and a strong depth chart assembled up front, the defensive line is going to wreak havoc for opponents for years.
If the rest of the team can keep up, Arkansas will be pushing for an SEC title sooner rather than later.
