Colorado football: 3 takeaways from 2023 spring game

1. The defense may be shaky, but the offense will be entertaining

As I’ve mentioned, this was just a glorified practice, so you can’t put too much stock into anything, but it just felt like the defense had a lot of ground to make up in the coming months if it’s going to be able to stop anyone in the Pac-12.

The new-look offense was able to put up video game-like numbers and they made it look easy. The defense has a ton of work to do.

But the offense, on the other hand, is going to be pretty entertaining this year with Shedeur Sanders at quarterback and Travis Hunter playing both ways. He’s a heck of a receiver but he’s an even better cornerback.

We at least saw that the offense will be lightyears better than it was during the nightmare 2022 season. There’s not going to be a stagnant, stale look to the offense this year, especially with all the playmakers the Buffaloes have.

If nothing else, this Colorado team will be more exciting this year.
