1. Sam Hartman is as good as advertised

The talk of the offseason has been about Sam Hartman and the impact he’s going to have on the Irish right away. He threw for over 10,000 yards at Wake Forest before transferring to Notre Dame and his impact is being felt immediately and fans saw that in the spring game.

Hartman was the star of the show on Saturday afternoon, completing 13-of-16 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns and he also rushed for another.

He out-dueled former four-star quarterback Tyler Buchner who had just 40 yards and an interception on 6-of-13 shooting.

The quarterback position has been a question mark for the Irish ever since Ian Book left, but it feels like it’s going to be a major strength next season as long as Hartman can stay healthy.

Hartman was as good as advertised in the spring game and we only got a small sampling of what he can do.
