Expect these newcomers to have an impact on Auburn Football this fall.

The Auburn Tigers come into the 2023 season with renewed hope. Tiger Nation is confident they have their man in new head coach Hugh Freeze. Bryan Harsin is not a bad football coach, but he did not have the full support of the boosters and brass on The Plains (look at how they tried to fire him with cause), and he did not fit what Auburn football needed to compete in the SEC.

Freeze has gone to work building a roster that lacks depth after the heavy attrition it suffered during the Harsin era. The Tigers signed 12 transfers this cycle and are likely not done yet with the portal reopening after spring and summer practice. Auburn football also had a good-sized high school class with 21 players.

Which ones will make an impact? Freeze and his staff understand SEC football. They proved that by signing 18 offensive and defensive linemen between high school and the transfer portal. Auburn football needed help on the offensive line and brought in players like Connor Lew from East Carolina and Gunner Britton from Western Kentucky.

Many of these new faces are plug-and-play starters from day one. Let’s look closely at some newcomers that will immediately impact the field this fall.
