2. Alabama

This has been a program that has been mentioned a ton since Tyler Buchner hit the transfer portal this afternoon. Alabama has ties to the Notre Dame quarterback because Tommy Rees left the Irish to be the Tide’s new offensive coordinator. Those two would reunite in Tuscaloosa and the familiarity would help both of them out.

Yes, Alabama does have two really good quarterbacks battling it out for the starting job, but neither really wowed anyone during the spring game.

Is there a slight door open for Buchner? It seems that way.

Buchner was offered by Alabama out of high school so there’s already a relationship built there between him and Nick Saban so that’s not an issue. Plus, the fact that Rees is there makes this an even better fit.

While it would be a tough spot for Buchner to win the starting job since he didn’t at Notre Dame, there’s still an opportunity the talented passer could surprise people and steal QB1 at Alabama.
