Kansas State edge rusher Felix Anudike-Uzomah has been selected No. 31 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs and here is our grade for the pick.

The crowd in Kansas City was hyped to hear their new key player coming into the Super Bowl-winning roster. They welcomed Felix Anudike-Uzomah with open arms as the feeling was mutual with him being born and raised in Kansas City.

This pick is much more than a hometown kid coming home to play for the Chiefs. Felix Anudike-Uzomah fills the void at edge rusher left by Frank Clark. Chief fans will him to Anudike-Uzomah as their star pass rusher.

There is much work to be done for Anudike-Uzomah to be the same pass rusher that Clark was for the Super Bowl-winning Chiefs.

Grading Anudike-Uzomah to the Chiefs

He is going to be a project as he possesses a great NFL-caliber body and instincts, but he has playing attributes that will need to be defined by his new professional coaches. He provides some solid athleticism and a mean streak off the edge and attacks the interior.

Anudike-Uzomah had a breakout year in 2021 as he accounted for 50 total tackles, 36 solo tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and six forced fumbles. This past season, he remained a force that often couldn’t be stopped as he accounted for 46 total tackles, 31 solo tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.

Give Anudike-Uzomah some time to develop, but he could be a defensive star for years to come for the Chiefs. Chiefs get a hometown kid, a project pass rusher who can be elite and a player that fills the biggest position need all in one pick.
