Looking back at college football recruiting for the month of April, here were the five biggest winners, which include Michigan and Ohio State once again.

It was another exciting month for college football recruiting and things are really starting to pick up when it comes to the 2024 class.

A number of elite targets came off the board in the 2024 college football recruiting class during the month of April and a number of top contenders had good months on the trail.

Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State were among our biggest winners in college football recruiting for the month of April. Oklahoma, South Carolina, Florida State, and others also did well too this month and were among the leaders in commitments.

So who did the best? We rank the five biggest winners from college football recruiting in April.

5. Oklahoma

Brent Venables and the Sooners had a really solid March and they continued it in the month of April by landing five commitments in all, including a four-star quarterback in Michael Hawkins.

Hawkins is ranked 328th overall and is 17th among quarterbacks. The Sooners landed a five-star QB in 2023 and already have a blue-chip commitment in 2025, so things are looking really good at the game’s most important position.

Beyond that, the Sooners landed top-100 wideout Zion Kearney out of Missouri. He’s 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, and ranked 12th among receivers in the 2024 college football recruiting class, as well as 63rd overall.

Oklahoma is now ranked 24th in the 2024 team rankings via the 247 Sports composite rankings and five of those six commitments came this month, with three of them considered blue chips (4 or 5-star recruits).
