4. Alabama

By the time the fall rolls around, Alabama is going to have five quarterbacks on their roster that were ranked as blue-chip prospects (four or five-star prospects), and four of them were ranked in the top 100 of the 247 Sports composite rankings for their respective classes.

Tyler Buchner is the newest name being added to the room after Alabama landed the former Notre Dame quarterback in the transfer portal.

Buchner joins a quarterback competition that features former 2022 five-star quarterback Ty Simpson, 2021 top-100 quarterback Jalen Milroe and also Eli Holstein, a top-100 quarterback from the 2023 class.

Oh, and for good measure, the Tide also signed Dylan Lonergan, who was also a top-10 QB in the 2023 class and ranked 151 overall. If you have five quarterbacks on your roster and that’s the worst one, it’s pretty impressive.

However, the addition of Buchner makes it clear that there is no clear-cut starter, which is why Alabama is a little lower on this list.
