Are the playoff hopes officially crushed after a second loss? That may very well be the case this year as the playoffs don’t expand to 12 games until next year and the Irish don’t have a conference title game to try and win and prove themselves.

But that’s not going to stop Sam Hartman from having a career game against his former team in South Bend. There’s no bad blood there, but we all know Wake Forest isn’t known for its defense.

Hartman will throw six touchdown passes in a big win.

Prediction: Win (9-2)

With a chance to record a 10th regular-season win, Notre Dame will hit the road to take on another yearly rival in Stanford.

The Cardinal will be led by new head coach Troy Taylor after David Shaw stepped down. The program has been in shambles for years and I don’t see that changing immediately so this game could get out of hand early on.

Notre Dame wins this one with relative ease and improves to 10-2 on the year.

Prediction: Win (10-2)
