The Portal King is at it again. After landing two of the top receivers in the 2023 transfer class, Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin is aiming for a third.

On Monday, it was reported that Michigan State transfer Keon Coleman would be visiting Oxford to check out Ole Miss this week. That would give Kiffin a heck of a trifecta after landing Tre Harris and Chris Marshall in the transfer portal at the receiver position.

And Coleman would fit in nicely at one of the schools that has become “WRU’ over the years.

Coleman has even better size than the other two transfer receivers at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds. He’s from SEC territory as a Louisiana native and he’s already had a visit to Florida State and LSU is calling, but I could see him loving Oxford and picking Ole Miss.

Why? Because he would flourish in that offense.

Ole Miss football, Keon Coleman would be a great match

Coleman had 58 catches for 798 yards and seven touchdowns in 2022 and became the Spartans’ WR1 even with second-round wide receiver Jayden Reed playing a majority of the games.

Don’t let his sub-1,000-yard season fool you, he dealt with inconsistent quarterback play all season long and an offense that grew stale. He was the best player on offense and it was clear that he would have flourished with a better quarterback.

And that’s what he would be getting at Ole Miss.

Take your pick, Jaxson Dart, Spencer Sanders, and Walker Howard, they all have higher ceilings than Payton Thorne did in that MSU offense in 2022. That would take Coleman from a 798-yard receiver to a 1,000-yard receiver.

Plus, there are more weapons around him that will take the focus off and he’ll be able to win his 1-on-1s. This would be the perfect offense for him.

Ole Miss and Coleman would be a perfect matchup.
