Texas A&M football: Post-spring game-by-game predictions for 2023
Texas A&M football fans are hoping for a turnaround in 2023. The quarterback play should be better which should only improve the offense, but losing Devon Achane is going to hurt.
The Aggies went just 5-7 last year after landing the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation and Jimbo Fisher immediately caught the flak. The head coach was brought to Texas A&M to win big bowl games and championships, not just recruit top classes and miss bowl games.
Now that another spring is in the books, fans have a more realistic idea of what to expect in 2023. Here are my game-by-game predictions for the Aggies.
This is the perfect way to start the Conner Weigman era in College Station as he’ll be able to build some confidence against a mediocre New Mexico team. The Aggies, too, need to build confidence as a team after winning just five games a year ago and missing a bowl game.
Based on talent alone, this game will be a blowout by halftime and Texas A&M will have its sights set on Miami by the end of the first quarter.
Prediction: Win (1-0)
Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes await in Week 2 and while this is a road game for Texas A&M, the crowds in Miami Gardens aren’t overly hostile because of the distance the stadium is from campus. This game may be a little different because the Hurricanes have high expectations and Texas A&M should travel.
Still, I think Texas A&M will just be the better team and the atmosphere won’t be too overwhelming for the Aggies and their first-year starting quarterback.
Texas A&M wins by a touchdown.
Prediction: Win (2-0)
