Dylan Raiola is the top quarterback left uncommitted in the 2024 college football recruiting class. Here’s the latest on him, Michael Van Buren, and others.

When it comes to the elite quarterbacks in the 2024 college football recruiting class, most of them are already committed somewhere.

The list of uncommitted quarterbacks in the 2024 college football recruiting class is shrinking and will likely get even smaller relatively soon.

Dylan Raiola is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s also been trending heavily to Georgia recently, with a Georgia expert from On3.com just projecting Raiola to UGA earlier this week.

The Bulldogs are the only team set to host Dylan Raiola for an official visit this summer. Just about every expert is predicting the same thing — a Georgia commitment.

Even Nebraska, the closest contender is starting to look at other quarterbacks with a 2024 QB coming to visit in early June in Kamari McClellan.

USC and Oregon were also viewed as top contenders for Dylan Raiola and each has focused on other targets. USC might still be lingering for Raiola, but Oregon really seems out of it.

The Ducks are focused on taking two quarterbacks in the 2024 college football recruiting class and landing one already at the end of last month by landing three-star QB Luke Moga.

At one time, I thought that commitment could mean Oregon wouldn’t have as good a chance with Raiola or Michael Van Buren, but since Moga’s commitment, Van Buren has continued to pick up crystal ball projections to land at Oregon.

Van Buren was once viewed as a Penn State lean. He’s ranked 129th overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings, as well as 11th among quarterbacks. The Nittany Lions felt like the favorite before he visited Oregon.

Now, Oregon seems poised to land Michael Van Buren and Luke Moga. The Ducks also flipped four-star quarterback Austin Novosad in the 2023 cycle, so the quarterback position is going to be set going forward for the Ducks, despite missing on Dante Moore in 2023.

Moore flipped from Oregon to UCLA. But Bo Nix is still going to be the starter this season and by the time the 2024 season rolls around, Novosad will hopefully be ready, with Moga and Michael Van Buren ready to compete as backups, at least if all the projections prove to be true.
