Arkansas football is coming off a slightly disappointing 2022 season, but Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks are in a much better place now than they were before he got there.

Heading into 2023, the goal might be an SEC title with KJ Jefferson and Rocket Sanders both returning, but I think Arkansas fans would be more than content with a season of competitive play and no letdowns.

Arkansas just needs to take another step in the right direction.

How will the Razorbacks fare in 2023 following updated post-spring expectations?

The season is going to start with a neutral site game against Western Carolina and, well, this one isn’t going to be all that close. The Razorbacks return their best two offensive players from a season ago and they’re going to run the ball down the throats of the Catamounts.

We’ll see the backups in by the end of the third quarter and everyone goes home happy.

Prediction: Win (1-0)

Collin Schlee has moved on at quarterback and Kent State is coming off a 5-7 season a year ago. A middle-of-the-pack MAC team with a brand new starting quarterback is not going to have a good time in Fayetteville for the official home opener for the Razorbacks.

I could see Arkansas scoring 50 here with 200-plus rushing yards for Rocket Sanders.

Prediction: Win (2-0)
