Arkansas football: Post-spring game-by-game predictions for 2023

It feels weird to say, but this is a Power Five matchup now. BYU is no longer in the ranks with the other independent teams, but the Cougars are now in the Big 12. This first season in the Big 12 will be telling.

The Cougars will get a nice test before conference play against Arkansas in Fayetteville and although Jaren Hall is gone, they do bring in Kedon Slovis from Pitt who was originally from USC. The offense should be solid again, but I’m not so sure that the BYU defense will be able to get the stops it needs to upset a team like Arkansas.

Prediction: Win (3-0)

I’m high on LSU this season and even have the Tigers as my post-spring No. 2 team in college football. They bring back the core of their solid SEC title game team from a year ago, led by Jayden Daniels who looks like he just took a major step forward this spring.

Brian Kelly is also bringing in a number of talented transfers along with an elite recruiting class, showing that he’s not going to be scared away by the rest of the SEC after coming over from Notre Dame.

LSU is going to win this one, handing Arkansas its first loss of the year.

Prediction: Loss (3-1, 0-1 SEC)
